BBC America. I know, it’s not for everybody but it’s not elitist either. I mean, with “Primeval,” “Bedlam,” “Doctor Who,” “Sherlock,” “Being Human” and others — it’s more sci-fi than Syfy. However, you may want to leave the closed-captions turned on in case you have trouble understanding English English.

The other night I tuned into BBC America for a little scifi. “Doctor Who” is on hiatus, so I watched a little “Battlestar Galactica,” which I didn’t really watched beyond the pilot. I found it a little dark, as I found ”Stargate Universe,” so decided to steer clear.
It was really spooky to hear the “Gayatri Mantra” in the opening credits, and now I understand why....
