The husband got me into it.
I’m really liking it, besides:
Jamie Bamber (BSG)
Hermione Norris (Cold Feet)
Amy Manson (What? Daisy from Being Human is in it? Sold!!!!)
Eric Mabius (from Ugly Betty… well… I guess we can forgive this little one)

In tone and content, Outcasts resembles one of those first-season Star Trek episodes where weary space travellers happen upon a seemingly idyllic, Earthlike world, only to learn it’s a false paradise.
Carpathia, as Outcasts’s planet is called, is a so-called “Goldilocks world” that was colonized by human refugees of a nuclear war on Earth, a five-year space flight away. The colonists don’t know what’s happening back home; their only news comes from the occasional space freighter or evacuee ship. And the people on Earth don’t know, nor, presumably, care, what’s happening on a space colony several worlds away.
Beautifully photographed and backed by a graceful musical score, Outcasts is a rare gem. If you’re a sci-fi devotee, this just might be the most pleasant surprise you’ll find on TV all year.
Jamie Bamber in the first episode of Outcasts that aired on BBC America last night as part of Supernatural Saturday.
Carpathia awaits the arrival of what could be the last transporter ship from Earth. Loyalties are tested as the head of Forthaven’s Expeditionaries attempts to break away from the settlement, and the beginnings of a mystery which goes right to the heart of human life on Carpathia are uncovered.
Premieres this Saturday, June 18th @ 9/8c on BBC America.
With Earth no longer habitable, a group of courageous pioneers have traveled to another planet to begin again. Settled in the town of Forthaven on Carpathia, the Outcasts are passionate about their jobs, confident of their ideals and optimistic about the future. They work hard to preserve what they’ve built on this planet they now call home.
Led by President Tate and his core team of Stella, Cass and Fleur—and settling alongside Expeditionaries Mitchell and Jack—this diverse group of individuals left their old lives behind in extraordinary circumstances. Promised a second chance at life, they created a society, far away from their home, friends, family…and their pasts.
Carpathia offers the possibility for both corruption and redemption. Though they try to avoid the mistakes made on Earth, they cannot escape the human pitfalls of love, greed, lust, loss, and a longing for those they’ve left behind.
As the outcasts continue to work and live together they come to realize this is no ordinary planet. Mystery lurks around them and threatens to risk the fragile peace of Forthaven.
The first episode of Outcasts airs this Saturday at 9/8p c on BBC America.
